Gents,

We have received the approval in principal from the Foundation and the Commandant to business plan with limited funding (up to $4500 total) the final three project proposals – RSM, Bas reliefs, Plinth (in that order).

I am asking the three project nominators to investigate these ideas further and to advise on a suitable plan for acquisition, cost and details. If there are necessary expenses in developing the business plan, we can ask for specific funds. I have proposed that such a request be made through Ken (representing the Class financing committee) and then to the Foundation. I suggested $2500 for the RSM project (some funds might be required to get historical research done – $1500 maybe) and professional services of $1000 for each project.

Below, I ask some questions which have been raised and that should be addressed in your plan. I suggest we jointly discuss progress in Feb 2015 – we should have a better idea of class funding and pretty solid costs estimates by project. That might be the time to choose which projects can proceed.

RSM Project: Tim Dear
– what is proposed; where do the pictures hang, how is the info obtained; cost
– is there any long term sustaining cost?

Bas Reliefs: Don Kennedy
– establish designs, size of production run, long run production rights (to be sold through Club store)
– how are they given out/distributed/sold;
– long run considerations

Plinth: Lawrence McDonough + ??(help!)
– min 3 alternatives for selection, size, placement,
– costs to include security and maintenance
– where (will have to satisfy the College)

I would recommend that the Class be advised of the three project leaders for the business plans. The class may be solicited for specific ideas related to specific projects or to volunteer to help out.

The floor is open!

Cheers, Lawrence
